We designed every aspect of the new interior, including specifying flooring, decorations, solid and glazed partitions, lighting, tea points, bespoke furniture (such as lockers, storage, phone booths, tiered seating and a presentation stage). 

The frameless glass partitions ensure natural light from the arched windows travels throughout the space. Ordinary partitions are often seen as outdated, so our modern take on them allows for the practicality of partitions, used to reduce noise, which is vital in a space as vast as this, and separate space without making the space feel smaller or dated. 

We wanted to incorporate some biophilic design elements into the office space, and the integration of the bespoke planters introduced greenery to the room, bringing the outside into the space. Countless studies suggest that having nature in the office can boost morale and productivity, so we always think about the long lasting benefits of our designs on the future occupants of the building. 

The furniture was carefully considered and supplied, with sit-stand desks and high touch-down benches being at the forefront of the design. These height adjustable desks and benches ensure anyone will be comfortable at these workstations and are perfect for hot desking.

The result is a contemporary space with frameless glazing, feature pendant lights, bespoke planters and phone booths. The furniture includes sit to stand workstations, high touch-down benches, reception seating and bench tables for the break-out space. Breakout spaces are in high demand, with modern offices placing an emphasis on ensuring their employees have a space to relax and unwind in.

With such a beautiful space, we felt it was important to help the original features shine where possible, with large arched street facing windows, tall coffered ceilings and wall panelling. We have successfully modernised the space with frameless glazing, feature lighting and contemporary furniture, without compromising its historic charm. We thoroughly enjoyed our work with Fountain.
